FrogPad, Inc. Will Unveil and Demonstrate Unique One-Handed Keyboard at “World’s Smallest Film Festival” at CTIA Wireless 2003

by Anonymous

Los Angeles, CA – February 27, 2003 -- FrogPad, Inc. will introduce and demonstrate its innovative and compact keyboard, designed for fast, one-handed data entry, at the “World’s Smallest Film Festival”, scheduled to take place on March 18 in New Orleans as part of the CTIA Wireless 2003 conference and exhibition.

The company is a sponsor of the unique event, which targets the use of small and wireless mobile devices for both business and entertainment applications. FrogPad co-founder and CEO Linda Marroquin will also take part in a panel discussion during the conference portion of the program, discussing the benefits and requirements of user interface (UI) and input technology to the mobile user experience.

The FrogPad team will be demonstrating its keyboard throughout the conference and at the “World’s Smallest Film Festival” booth (#1056) located on the Mobile Entertainment exhibit floor. The keyboard measures 3” x 3” and features full-sized keys, all in 1/5th of the space taken by a traditional Qwerty keyboard. The letter layout of the keyboard is based on the percent usage of each letter in the English language. The fifteen letters that are used 86% of the time by most typists are placed in the most efficient locations on the keyboard. It was also designed using the natural drumming motion of the hand.

The FrogPad keyboard will be licensed as the embedded UI to wireless Internet device manufacturers, including manufacturers of USB-compatible PDA's, Pocket PCs, Tablet PCs and wireless phones. FrogPad will also be featuring the new licensing model for the MiniPad pc.

“FrogPad simply is the new mobile keyboard standard for fast, easy and accessible data entry,” asserts Linda Marroquin, FrogPad’s CEO and President. “We have tested the device in a variety of applications, and we know that it’s easier and faster to learn to type on the FrogPad than on a standard Qwerty keyboard, and we know that it offers more possibilities for mobile computing.”

“The whole concept of the “World’s Smallest Film Festival” is to demonstrate and explore some of the applications possibilities of highly-mobile and wireless devices in everyday life,” says Tim Scannell, co-founder and vice president of technology initiatives and projects for BigDigit Media, sponsor of the festival and conference “This is why the FrogPad technology is so important, since it effectively overcomes a number of inherent problems associated with data and text entry and is well-positioned to play a major role in the fast-growing wireless messaging market.”

About the World’s Smallest Film Festival

The “World’s Smallest Film Festival” and conference will showcase some of the most interesting and exciting technologies and digital media produced for small-format mobile phones and communications-enabled mobile devices. The highlight of the event will be an awards presentation that recognizes the best and the most innovative digital content creations across several different categories. These categories include: Drama, Comedy, Music, Episodic, Instructional, Animation, and Commercial and Sports

All attendees at the CTIA conference and exhibition will also have an opportunity to screen and vote on entries as part of the First Annual BigDigit "Best of Show" awards category for CTIA WIRELESS. However, only those who request an invitation to the event, and are selected, will be able to view the finalists and winners on the "big screen" at the awards presentation.

Just prior to the awards ceremony, we will lead a series of discussions and presentations focusing on new trends and developments in small format digital media and mobile multimedia applications. Taking part in the discussions will be representatives from some of the top hardware, software and content companies in the industry. Many of these companies will be showing the latest in mobile technology and will be prepared to demonstrate how these new systems and services will usher in a brave new world of mobile entertainment and portable multimedia. Details on BigDigit’s First Annual “World’s Smallest Film Festival” are available on the CTIA Web site at http://wireless2003.ctsg.com/general/first_annual.cfm.
